Africa-Press – Eswatini. Athletics Eswatini (AE), the official governing body for athletics in the Kingdom of Eswatini, has announced that applications are now open for individuals, organizations, and institutions interested in hosting or running athletic events for the upcoming 2026 season.
AE is extending the invitation widely, targeting corporates, small enterprises, churches, community organizations, and other interested groups. The federation emphasized that this inclusive approach is aligned with its vision to make athletics a sport for everyone—driving equality, participation, and talent identification across the country.
“As the national federation, AE is affiliated with World Athletics, the Eswatini Sport and Recreation Council (ESRC), and the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA). All athletic events within the country are sanctioned and approved by AE,” the statement noted.
The federation has also issued a strict reminder that hosting or running unauthorized athletic events is prohibited, warning that individuals or organizations conducting illegal races will face legal consequences, with law enforcement stepping in where necessary.
Interested applicants are required to submit their proposed event dates on or before 20 October 2025. Late submissions will not be accepted.
This announcement marks the beginning of preparations for what promises to be another exciting athletics season in Eswatini, offering opportunities for broader community involvement in the sport.
