Africa-Press – Eswatini. ”Akusudlalwa ngalaMaswati”, these were the sentiments of Ngwemphisi Member of Parliament(MP) Bishop Bhekibandla Vilakati when questioning the delay in the payment of allowances for firefighters.

Vilakati, a member of the Public Accounts Committee(PAC) urged Principal Secretary(PS) in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development to urgently facilitate the release of the payment.

The MP further noted that, it has become a norm in this country for those in power to abuse the powerless, he called for the urgent release of the money.

“Release the money, don’t frustrate other fellow citizens, this is their money and they worked for it,”said the MP on Thursday when addressing officials from the Housing Ministry including the PS who appeared before the PAC.

It is alleged that, Chief Fire Officer(CFO) Luke Lushaba who was also present in Parliament, is behind the decision to frustrate the release of the money, in defiance of a court order.
