Africa-Press – Eswatini. RFM Hospital Chief Executive Officer Mazwi Mavuso has welcomed the donation of a brand-new E1.1 million ambulance, describing it as a timely boost that will strengthen healthcare delivery for thousands of emaSwati.
Speaking during the official handover ceremony on Thursday morning, Mavuso expressed gratitude to His Majesty’s Government through the Ministry of Health, saying the continued support was evidence of real progress despite challenges facing the health sector.
“We are grateful for the support coming from His Majesty’s government through the Ministry of Health. We are receiving a lot of support, and we want to commend these interventions despite the challenges. The ambulance support will surely go a long way in enhancing health service delivery at RFM Hospital and improving positive health outcomes,” he said.
Serving the nation at the centre
Mavuso noted that RFM and its 20 community clinics serve 40 percent of the country’s population annually, making the donation vital for both emergencies and outreach.
“Because of our expertise, access to specialist care, compassionate service to the people, and our rich history, many emaSwati prefer to be treated at RFM,” he said.
He pledged responsible stewardship of the vehicle, assuring the Ministry that it would be used strictly for patient care.
“As ENHI, we are an extension of the Ministry of Health, and as a government parastatal, our mandate is to provide accessible healthcare to the people. We pledge our commitment to ensuring this donation serves its desired purpose,” he added.
The CEO also pointed out that the ambulance would enhance RFM’s medical support during major national events such as Umhlanga, Emaganu and Incwala, further strengthening its role in national health delivery.
Mavuso closed his remarks by saluting His Majesty for the vision behind such interventions: “Sekhuta Lwandle kuyo Imbube yeMhlaba, Bayethe wena Waphakathi!”
The donation, he said, was more than a vehicleit was a symbol of hope, service, and restored confidence in Eswatini’s health system.
