SADC Ensures Free and Fair Elections in Malawi

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Themba Masuku, the Head of the Southern African Development Community(SADC) Malawi Electoral Observation Mission says, the regional body will conduct organizational introspection subsequent to criticism in handling the previous Malawi elections.

The eSwatini former Deputy Prime Minister(DPM) was speaking at the Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe on Wednesday and this, was during the launch of the SADC Electoral Observation Mission(SEOM) ahead of the highly anticipated Malawi elections.

“We encourage all stakeholders to ensure that these elections are conducted in a peaceful, fair, transparent, and credible manner,” he said.

Masuku said the regional body has since undertaken significant introspection to strengthen its observation processes, he urged Malawians to turn out in large numbers to cast their votes on September 16, assuring that SADC will issue its preliminary statement on the elections on September 18.
