State agents burn late PUDEMO President Mario Masuku’s home

Africa-Press – Eswatini. On Sunday, State agents allegedly burnt the home of Mario Masuku, the late President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO).

This comes a few weeks after the press exposed Themba Ginindza, the King’s Governor who disclosed that they were training a squad that would burn political activists and their properties.

Reached for comments on Sunday afternoon, Wandile Dludlu, the PUDEMO Secretary General confirmed the burning of the late PUDEMO President’s home.

“It’s true, the home of our late President was burnt and we suspect State agents. You will recall that about three years ago while President Mario Masuku was still alive, soldiers fired shots at the house. They then claimed it was a mistake of stray bullets while they were chasing criminals,” said the PUDEMO Secretary General.

A questionnaire was sent to Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, however, she had not responded at the time of compiling this report.

It could not be ascertained why the State agents opted to burn the home of the deceased political activist.
