Africa-Press – Eswatini. Just as the PLE Exco elections are around the corner, contestants will begin sharing their dreams about football to sell themselves.
Red Rhinos Director and Premier League of Eswatini Executive member Sithembiso ‘Ngudze’ Mamba is one of them, as he says it was high time teams stopped taking football matters to court.
Mamba said this during the Eswatini Football Association Annual General Meeting held at the Happy Valley Hotel yesterday, where he stated that such a practice was not a good reflection of the football run in the country in every way. Mamba urged the EFA president to ensure that things were done in an appropriate way.
“We have seen several football matters being taken to courts, such is not allowed and it is time the rightful structures address such matters.
The game of football has rules that are clearly stated in the event there is a misunderstanding in the sport. Truly speaking, it says a lot about the way such matters are handled. One would politely ask the president with the assistance of other relevant structures and stakeholders to look closely at it and find a way of solving the problems.”
The outspoken long-serving administrator further praised the office of the president and the executive for working tirelessly in fostering an improvement in the sport through the different programmes and trainings that they have availed for all their affiliates.
“We can’t be criticising all the time, it’s only fair and right to give credit where it is due; we are appreciative off all the efforts that the EFA has been doing to change for the better. We are certain that we are headed in the right direction” he said
Eswatini Football Association President Peter ‘Samora’ Simelane acknowledged the fact that the concerns raised by Mamba were valid and they also supported his view as football had its own forums, where issues can be discussed other than the court of laws.
A recent issue that has not been decided in the field of football is that of Manzini Wanderers, which has been dragging for the longest of time in countless sittings by the EFA Disciplinary committee, led by lawyer Thulani Sibandze.
Despite issuing a ruling, Wanderers made an appeal which is expected to proceed probably tomorrow.
In was the same old story in the Shiselweni Regional Football Association as Nkomonye Cosmos and Nkwene Sundowns had to go to court for their matter to be finalised, which led to the National First Division play-offs being delayed.
