Africa-Press – Eswatini. Beyond vehicle donations, the Republic of China (Taiwan) continues to support Eswatini through a range of development projects in health, education, agriculture, and social welfare.
Taiwan’s Ambassador Jeremy Liang and Eswatini Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla highlighted these efforts today during the ceremony for the donation of vehicles for persons with disabilities.
Since establishing diplomatic relations in 1968, Taiwan has worked closely with Eswatini to improve the lives of Emaswati. Key projects include the dispatch of Taiwan Medical Missions, which provide vital healthcare services, and assistance in the construction of the Mbabane Government Hospital Referral Emergency Complex. These initiatives aim to strengthen the health system and ensure access to quality care across the country.
In addition, Taiwan has supported social welfare programs, including the Asibambisane Sibe Ngumndeni Family Reunification Program, which reunited families affected by hardship, and housing projects for vulnerable citizens, improving living conditions and promoting human dignity. Taiwan’s ongoing investment in education and agriculture also reflects its commitment to sustainable development, job creation, and youth empowerment.
Deputy Prime Minister Dladla praised Taiwan’s contributions, noting that these initiatives demonstrate “shared values and a common vision for a better future.” Ambassador Liang reaffirmed Taiwan’s commitment, stating that “Taiwan stands with Eswatini in solidarity, continuously striving to enhance the well-being of all citizens.”
The projects underscore the strong and enduring partnership between the two nations, built on mutual respect, compassion, and a dedication to inclusive development. Both leaders emphasized that continued collaboration will be key to achieving Eswatini’s long-term development goals and improving the quality of life for all Emaswati.
