Africa-Press – Eswatini. Kwanele Jele has once again proven his dominance in Eswatini’s cycling scene, clinching his third consecutive title at the Eswatini National Cycling Championships with an impressive finish time of 4 hours, 18 minutes, and 44 seconds.

Jele, a rider known for his resilience and race intelligence, led the highly competitive field from the early stages and never relinquished his lead. His performance was a testament to both physical endurance and mental strength, solidifying his reputation as the nation’s top cyclist.

“This was a hard 120km race and I came first,” said Jele proudly. “I was the defending champion after winning the national championships in 2023 and 2024. I’m happy to be able to defend my title. It wasn’t easy, but I made it. Winning a national title three times in a row just makes me happy and keeps me motivated to do more.”

Jele also took the opportunity to thank his team and supporters: “I would like to thank my 4Eva Cycling Club for the support and especially Mr. Clinton Mc Namara for believing in me.”

Hot on Jele’s heels was Muzi Shabangu, who finished with the exact same time of 4:18:44, showcasing the tight competition and the thrilling nature of the event. Calvin Fakudze followed in third place, clocking 4:20:44, while Greg Herbast completed the top four with a time of 4:21:48.

The championship drew top cyclists from across the country, each with the dream of claiming national glory. Jele’s consistent lead, however, underlined the depth of his preparation and his championship mindset.

His victory has sparked celebration across the local cycling community, with many hailing the achievement as not just a personal milestone but an inspiration for the next generation of cyclists in Eswatini.

Jele now sets his sights on future international competitions, carrying with him the pride of a nation and the hopes of continued success on the road ahead.
