Africa-Press – Eswatini. Assistant Commissioner Clement Sihlongonyane survived shooting at the peak of the political unrest, he has “many enemies within the pro-democracy movement other sectors of the society because he invaded our homes, allegedly killed and tortured our relatives merely for having different political views.
Others including my wife were tortured merely for being related to those with different political views and all this, happened in a country that claims to be respecting the rule of law.
Among Sihlongonyane’s enemies, others attempted to kill him, even though he survived, he is getting old now and might not have the ability or strength to fight back should those he wronged target him again.
What made Sihlongonyane a target was that, he did all this knowing that no one will arrest him.
But other people are not fools, you cannot intentionally plot to kill them or torture their relatives for political reasons and then, live in peace because you are working for those who are above the courts.
It’s dangerous to be above the courts because people with no alternative remedy might find themselves having no alternative but to kill you, the courts are there to maintain law and order, peace and stability.
Now, people who are victims of injustice always have an alternative but some normally opt to use the courts and if the courts fail or those behind the injustice decides to defy court orders, then anarchy or disorder might erupt.
I am one of those who approached the courts when Assistant Commissioner Clement Sihlongonyane tortured my wife but, Magistrates were intimidated and told to drop the matter.
Sihlongonyane then developed more arrogance, allegedly tortured and killed more people during the political unrest but, he was almost killed in the process, as others plotted against him.
Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo spoke with arrogance against the junior police officers who are demanding a salary increment, he stated that they won’t receive their money despite the existence of a court order delivered by the Supreme Court.
But as mentioned, it’s dangerous to defy a court order because by so doing, you are inciting the aggrived individuals to use other means against you so that, they can receive what is due to them.
In my view, should Government decide to defy the court order, we might witness anarchy in this country because the hunger among junior police officers is at another level, a hungry human being is extremely dangerous.
Court judgement that seeks to restore order, peace and stability must be respected otherwise those who are hungry will kill, eat or consume the rich and powerful.
As for Government Spokesperson, we must forgive him because he sometimes speaks while under the influence of alcohol, my greatest fear is the violence that might erupt should junior police officers fight amongst themselves.
As the situation stands, the regime is hoping to unleash other cops or soldiers against those who are demanding a salary increment, this means we will have security officers siding with the conservatives while others fight for their rights.
What Government is failing to understand is that almost all junior police, Correctional Services officers and soldiers want a salary increment and should the chaos erupt, more security officers might fight the regime.
We don’t want violence to erupt in this country, Government must respect the order of the Supreme Court and award junior police officers their salary increment.
