Africa-Press – Eswatini. Dr. Thambo Gina, the Minister of Economic Planning and Development says the recently launched World Bank Economic Update Report must guide Government and influence economic development decisions.
The Minister was speaking at the United Nations(UN) House on Thursday during the launch of digital transformation report, Finance Minister Neal Rijikernberg, Information, Communication and Technology(ICT) Savannah Maziya and World Bank Resident Representative Eswatini Ikechi Okorie addressed the event.
“We are particularly encouraged by the report’s emphasis on collaboration-between public and private sectors, development partners, and regional institutions. The digital economy cannot be built in silos.It requires coordinated investment, interoperable systems, shared infrastructure, and inclusive policies. Let me close by encouraging everyone here today to engage seriously with the findings of this report.Let’s not treat it as a once-off publication, but as a resource to guide decision-making, shape reforms, and prioritize investments. And let us continue to work together-across institutions and sectors-to translate this digital opportunity into tangible improvements in the lives of emaSwati”, said the Economic Planning and Development Minister.
