The 20th Great Ethiopian Run gathered thousands of people in Addis Ababa, Sunday, in what was reportedly the largest African sporting event to take place since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. Due to health concerns,

organisers reduced the number of participants of 50,000 runners down to 12,500. The race featured a wave start to ensure more social distancing, all runners also had their temperatures checked and masks were mandatory when on the course.
