Africa-Press – Ethiopia. Ambassador Biruk Mekonnen paid a courtesy visit to Emily Thornberry, Chair of UK parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee.
During their meeting, the Ambassador provided an update on Ethiopia’s recent developments and the current situation in the Horn of Africa.
Their discussion highlighted the Ethiopian Government’s ongoing efforts to achieve sustainable peace, including initiatives like the Transitional Justice Policy and the National Dialogue Process.
Ambassador Biruk also shared insights into Ethiopia’s major economic reforms, which have created a favorable climate for foreign investment, including opportunities for British companies.
Furthermore, both sides explored avenues for strengthening collaboration between the Foreign Affairs Committees of the two countries’ parliaments, paving the way for even closer ties.
