Ethiopia's Foreign Minister Visits Algeria for Strategy

Africa-Press – Ethiopia. A high-level Ethiopian delegation, led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Gedion Timothewos, is currently undertaking a working visit to Algeria to strengthen bilateral relations and foster diplomatic cooperation.

During the visit, Gedion held productive discussions with Ahmed Attaf, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad of Algeria.

The two Ministers reviewed the implementation progress of the key decisions adopted during the 5th Joint Ministerial Commission between the two countries held in Addis Ababa.

They emphasized the importance of continued coordination in advancing shared priorities both within Africa and in international multilateral platforms, according to Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In addition, the Ministers exchanged views on key continental and regional peace and security issues. They reaffirmed the need to further deepen economic cooperation through close and results-oriented engagement, outlining concrete directions to strengthen the ongoing initiatives.

The two ministers underscored the strategic partnership between Ethiopia and Algeria and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the African Union and enhancing its role on the global stage.

They also pledged to deepen their strategic cooperation by promoting trade and investment, facilitating technology transfer, and expanding educational collaboration to ensure mutual benefit for both countries.
