Manchester City’s ex-striker, Carlos Tevez gets new coaching job

Africa-Press – Ethiopia. Former Manchester City striker, Carlos Tevez, has been appointed the new coach of Rosario Central.

Rosario Central made the announcement in a tweet via its Twitter handle on Tuesday.

It tweeted: “Carlos Tévez is the manager of #RosarioCentral!

“Apache became the new auriazul coach, after signing a contract with the Club for 12 months. Carlos “El Chapa” Retegui will be a member of his coaching staff.”

Tevez recently confirmed his retirement from professional football at the age of 38 following the death of his father.

The former Argentina international cited the loss of his father, who he described as his number one fan, in early 2021, as a reason for his decision to stop playing, despite having offers to continue, including in MLS.

Tevez played in the Premier League from 2006 until 2013 with West Ham, Manchester United and Manchester City.

He had most recently been playing at home in Argentina with his boyhood club Boca Juniors.
