Africa-Press – Ethiopia. A monument erected in memory of Blatten Geta Heruy Welde Selassie, a prominent Ethiopian writer and member of Ethiopia’s first delegation to the League of Nations, was inaugurated at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Addis Ababa today.
Blatten Geta Heruy Welde Selassie is one of the pioneers of Ethiopian literature who has written various books in Amharic and served as Ethiopian foreign minister.
He was also a judge of the Special Court, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The author and minister was a member of Ethiopia’s first delegation to the League of Nations.
The inauguration of the monument was attended by representatives of different government offices, Ethiopian historians, and authors.
