Addis Ababa, Feb 16 (Prensa Latina) Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavusoglu stated on Tuesday that his country will extend support for Ethiopia’s fight against terrorism in the so-called Horn of Africa, according to an official remark issued on Tuesday.
Our country has been fighting a similar battle for many years, we understand the African states’ concern and we know the high cost of their efforts, the foreign minister said during the opening ceremony of Ethiopia’s new Embassy building in Ankara, the capital of Turkey.
For his part, Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen, also present at the ceremony, said that the new Embassy is a sign of the solid relationship between the two countries.
The Embassy, he pointed out, will be a place where we will promote our cultures, strengthen contacts among peoples, renew economic partnership, and take steps toward ascending a higher level of relationships.
Mekonnen, who is also a Minister of Foreign Affairs, arrived in Ankara, to carry out an official visit that concludes this Tuesday celebration for the 125th anniversary of the first diplomatic contacts between the two states.
