Africa-Press – Gambia. Bunkiling United has been crowned champions of the Sanyang Sports Committee APS-Sponsored Super Cup after a hard-fought victory on Saturday.
In a well-contested match at the Sanyang football field, Bunkiling United defeated Black-Star 1-0. This victory adds another trophy to Bunkiling United growing collection, following their league title win last season. Black-Star, meanwhile, were the Knock-out champions.
The win solidifies Bunkiling United position as the dominant team in the Sanyang Nawettan as they kick off the new season with a major title.
The final was well-attended, with several dignitaries present, including Hon. Botto Bojang, Councillor of Sanyang Ward; representatives from APS Wallet; and Mr. Lamin Darboe, CEO of Darboe Jula Estate.
As champions, Bunkiling United received a trophy, gold medals, and a cash prize of D15,000. Black-Star, as runners-up, were awarded silver medals and a cash prize of D10,000.
Ismaila Touray of Bunkiling United was named the Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.
