Estonian side Paide signs Real de Banjul trio

Africa-Press – Gambia. Estonian topflight team Paide Linnameeskond has signed three Gambian players from Real de Banjul FC on Tuesday. 23-year-old goalkeeper Ebrima Jarju (center), has represented The Gambia both at U20 and U23 levels. 19-year-old winger Bubacarr Tambedou (right) and 18-year-old Ebrima Singhateh (left) all put pen to paper on a three-year contract with Paide.

“I would like to thank everyone who helped me reach this ambitious team. I am ready to work hard to help the club achieve its goals. I can’t wait to meet my new teammates,” the goalkeeper told the Paide press service.

Bubacarr Tambedou said: “Becoming a professional footballer is a dream come true and I’m happy to join this great club. I’m looking forward to making history with Paide and taking the club to the next level.”

Ebrima Singhateh said: “I am very happy to have joined the Paide City team. Now we have to put a lot of hard work and dedication to help the team win the cups. I want to take myself as a player to the next level and I hope to bring a smile to the fans’ faces together.”

Sports Director Gert Kams said: “The collaboration between the Paide City team and Real de Banjul actually started years ago when Alassana Jatta and Muhammed Sanneh joined the club. The ambition and development of these players gave us a clear understanding of defeat in football.”

Following a successful meeting between Estonian side Paide and Gambian side Real de Banjul in June 2021, a long-term cooperation agreement was signed, which provides for the development and preparation of young players for professional careers on European football pitches.

Both Real de Banjul and Paide partnership started with the selling of Alassana Jatta and Muhammed Sanneh, who now play in the Danish and Czech championships respectively.

Both players started their professional careers with Paide from the 12-time Gambian champions. Paide Linnameeskond last season finished third in the Meistriliiga (First Division League).
