Njundu Fatty Elected President of GCCI

Africa-Press – Gambia. Njundu Fatty, Chief Executive Officer of Salam Financial Services, has been elected as the new president of the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), following a closely contested vote held on Friday, September 5th, 2025, at the Chamber’s headquarters in Banjul.

Fatty, who succeeds the outgoing leadership, secured victory over prominent property developer Saul Frazer in an election that drew keen interest from across the private sector. His win ushers in a new chapter for one of the country’s most influential business organizations, with a three-year mandate to guide policy advocacy and strengthen the role of the private sector in national development.

Alongside Fatty, a new executive team was elected to steer the Chamber. Fatou Jallow will serve as Vice President, while Momodou Barrow takes charge of Banking and Financial Services. David Jeng was chosen as Director of Youth, Sulayman Mboge as Director of Agriculture, Agribusiness and Exports, and Sanna Jassey as Director of Construction, Real Estate and Tourism.

The new leadership is expected to play a central role in fostering business growth, strengthening trade partnerships, and driving investment opportunities in The Gambia.
