Africa-Press – Gambia. Ismaily have been struggling for the past couple of seasons to remain among the top Egyptian Premier League teams, due their financial struggles and poor management.

Egyptian Premier League side, Ismaily SC, have signed Argentine striker Diego Fernando Dorregaray on a permanent deal coming from Deportivo Cuenca.

Last year Ismaily finished 11th, only eight points ahead of Wadi Degla who were relegated to the Second Division.

Their situation even worsened this season, as they currently lie 17th on the league table, with only two points collected in seven fixtures.

The Yellows are now looking to turn a new leaf as a new era commences, led by new club president Yehia El-Komy and Argentine head coach Juan Brown.

The Yellows have been very active this winter transfer window in an attempt to strengthen their squad, mainly on the attacking front, before the league’s resumption.Ismaily signed Bolivia international Carmelo Algarañaz, Gambia’s Saikou Conteh, Ivorian forward Jean-Morel Poé and most recently Argentinian striker Diego Dorregaray on a four-and-a-half year deal.

The 29-year-old played his entire career in South America, playing for the likes CS Barracas Bolivar, CA Atlanta and Defensores de Belgrano in his home country. Additionally, he plied his trade in Ecuador with Guayaquil City FC, Tecnico Universitario and finally Deportivo Cuenca.
