Africa-Press – Gambia. The Reformist Organization for Growth, Renewal, Equity, Security, and Social Justice (PROGRESS) has received formal endorsement from the Patriotic Alliance for System Transformations and Emancipation Through Functionalism (PASTEF) The Gambia, citing shared principles of national unity, political diversity, and tolerance.
The endorsement was confirmed during a meeting between the two parties, which both described as a demonstration of solidarity in the pursuit of national transformation.
Speaking to The Voice, PROGRESS leader Amadou Jaiteh said the visit and endorsement reflected a mutual commitment to rescuing the country through collective action. “We warmly welcomed the delegation and conveyed our appreciation for the visit and endorsement. This is a demonstration of political maturity. We have a shared responsibility to rescue the country, and no single individual can do this alone,” he said.
Mr. Jaiteh added that the movement is committed to delivering services that reduce dependency on foreign ideology while embracing local values and priorities.
PASTEF’s leadership praised PROGRESS for its identity, core values, and commitment to establishing a just, stable, and prosperous Gambia. They noted that the movement’s vision aligns with their aspirations for national development, where all citizens, regardless of gender, ethnicity, political affiliation, or socio-economic background, are afforded equal opportunities.
Mr. Jaiteh lauded PASTEF for recognizing PROGRESS as a credible alternative capable of steering the country toward a future grounded in hope, dignity, and inclusive development. He also urged the party to continue its work across all regions, describing it as essential to national progress and unity.
