Prominent Figures Named Among Buyers in Jammeh Asset Sale List Released by Ministry of Justice

Africa-Press – Gambia. The Ministry of Justice has released a detailed list of assets formerly owned by ex-President Yahya Jammeh that have since been sold, shedding new light on the beneficiaries of the state-sanctioned liquidation process.

A preliminary review of the document reveals that several prominent individuals and businesses have acquired some of the former leader’s assets, including high-end vehicles and household furnishings.

Among the names appearing on the list is Permanent Secretary Muntaga Sallah, who had previously been reported by The Republic as having purchased Jammeh’s beds. The newly released records indicate that Mr. Sallah also bought three vehicles formerly belonging to Jammeh, all at significantly discounted prices:

A Mercedes-Benz Saloon S350 (SH 9) for D125,000

A Mercedes-Benz Saloon S500 (SH 14) for D150,000

An Infiniti QX56 (SH 16) for D75,000

The revelation is likely to raise further questions about the transparency of the asset disposal process and the criteria used in determining eligible buyers and sale prices.

The Justice Ministry has yet to comment on the procedures followed during the sales, but the release of this list marks the first time the public has had access to specific details about the beneficiaries of the post-Jammeh asset recovery effort.

Our newsroom is continuing to analyze the full list and will provide further updates and insights as we prepare comprehensive coverage of this developing story.
