Africa-Press – Gambia. Steve Biko FC on Friday recorded their first win of the season after defeating Falcons FC 2-0, while Samger FC secured a crucial 2-1 away victory over Bombada FC as Week 14 of the GFF First Division League commenced.

At the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama, Samger FC edged Bombada FC 2-1 to register their second win of the campaign.

Ismaila Manneh gave Samger the lead from the penalty spot in the fourth minute to ensure a 1-0 advantage at halftime. Bombada defender Abdoulie Camara equalised in the 70th minute, scoring his sixth goal of the season.

However, Amfaal Cham restored Samger’s lead with a looping header to seal the victory. Bombada were awarded a late penalty, but Sheriff Camara missed from the spot as Samger held on for maximum points.

At the Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum, Yankuba Touray scored a brace to inspire Steve Biko FC to a 2-0 win over Falcons FC.

Touray opened the scoring in the 25th minute after capitalising on a defensive error to give Steve Biko a 1-0 lead at the break. He sealed the victory in the 78th minute with a long-range strike.

In Kabekel, Hawks FC and TMT FC played out a goalless draw. Both sides created chances, with TMT hitting the crossbar in each half, while substitute Ebrima Fofana was denied at close range by the Hawks goalkeeper.

Meanwhile, champions Real de Banjul FC were held to a 0-0 draw by Fortune FC at the Live Your Dreams Academy Field in Basori. Real de Banjul finished the match with 10 men after Makaira Tambedou was sent off in the final minute for a second bookable offence.
