Africa-Press – Ghana. Ghana Premier League club Vision FC has confirmed the death of their former captain, Habib Ganiu, who died on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
Ganiu played an important role in the team’s first-ever qualification for the Ghana Premier League season, even though he was not a member of the 2024-25 squad.
In a club statement, Vision FC characterised Ganiu as someone whose leadership both on and off the pitch will be remembered throughout the club’s history.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of our former captain, Habib Ganiu. He was an inspiration to everyone at Vision FC and a key figure in our journey to the Premier League.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time,” the statement read.
The Ghanaian football community has expressed their condolences to the bereaved families and teammates of Ganiu, a beloved figure to all.
