Africa-Press – Ghana. Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak finished the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League season, occupying their third and fourth positions, respectively.
Despite finishing the season with 58 points each, Asante Kotoko edged their arch-rival on the head-to-head rule, as stipulated in Article 7(4) of the Premier League regulations.
The Porcupine Warriors secured a 1-0 victory over Hearts in Kumasi and held their rivals to a goalless draw in Accra, giving them the advantage.
Nations FC has been deducted three points and fined GHC2500 for abandoning their match against Basake Holy Stars in the season’s penultimate encounter.
Nations FC dropped to fifth place with 57 points, while Basake Holy Stars moved up to 13th place after receiving three points.
Bibiani Gold Stars won their first-ever league title after securing a 4-0 win against Accra Lions on the last day of the season.
They would represent Ghana at the 2025-26 CAF Champions League.
Dreams FC finished sixth on the league log, followed by FC Samartex 1996 (7th), Medeama SC (8th), Aduana FC (9th) and Bechem United (10th).
The season ended in disappointment for Accra Lions, Legon Cities and Nsoatreman, who have been relegated to the Access Bank Division One League.
