Africa-Press – Ghana. Adrobaa R/C Basic School in the Ahafo Region has emerged winners of the 2025 Milo U – 13 Champions League Competition.
The school displayed an electrifying performance as they beat Franko International School from the Western North Region by two goals to nil in the final match.
During the 90-minute football match, the winners opened the scoring just three minutes into the game, igniting the energy of both teams.
Franko International mounted a strong defensive effort but failed to convert their goal-scoring chances, allowing Adrobaa to extend their lead with a second goal in the 56th minute.
The Milo U – 13 Champions League organized by Nestle Ghana Ltd in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service and endorsed by the Ghana Football Association, featured players aged 9 to 13 representing their regions in a bid to showcase their talent and teamwork.
Over 20,000 children across the country participated in the prestigious league which returned after a five-year hiatus.
The national stage, which began on December 2 to December 7, saw top 16 schools representing the various Regions.
The top three schools were awarded cash prizes, medals, Nestle products and football accoutrements.
Ms. Deborah Kwabla, Corporate Communication and Public Affairs Manager for Nestle Ghana, speaking to newsmen after the competition, said the company sought to use the platform to nurture the next top players for Ghana and the rest of the world.
She noted that several globally renowned football stars emerged through the Milo U-13 Championship, emphasizing that when scouts identify young talents with professional potential, it significantly contributes to the nation’s pool of professional footballers.
Mr. Stephen Appiah, a Former Black Stars Captain, commended Nestle Ghana for their contribution to the development of Ghana Football, adding that players like Fatao Ishaku and Kevin Nkrumah who are playing for the national team came through the competition.
