Africa-Press – Ghana. Mr Stephen Boateng, the Atwima Nwabiagya South constituency Chairperson of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has appealed to all party members within the Atwima enclave, to strengthen their unity as they prepare towards the Election 2028.

He said the massive votes received by Dr Mahamud Bawumia in the presidential primaries in the four Atwima constituencies, was an indication of the common idea, vision and purpose, which strengthened efforts towards unity and victory for the party.

Mr Boateng, made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Nkawie, after witnessing the collation of the results of all the four Atwima constituencies in the presidential primaries where Dr Bawumia massively won.

He emphasised that internal contests had existed in the party since the year 1992, but members had always been united after each internal election.

He said the collective unity among party members in the Atwima enclave had always existed.

This, he said had led to the production of former President John Agyekum Kuffour, the party’s first president of Ghana, who also served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for the then Atwima Nwabiagya constituency, which consisted of both the Atwima and Ahafo Ano enclaves.

He urged the delegates, members, and all NPP supporters to sink their differences and rally around the elected flag-bearer for the Election 2028.

Mr Boateng also appealed to party supporters to desist from voter apathy after the loss of their preferred aspirants since it created chances for their opponents.

Dr Bawumia recorded the highest votes in the Atwima Kwanwoma area, receiving 673 out of the 1162 valid votes cast, representing 64 per cent.

He also secured 392 out of the 743 valid votes cast in Atwima Nwabiagya North, representing 58 per cent and 671 out of the 1,036 valid votes cast in the Atwima Mponua constituency, representing 58 per cent.

Dr Bawumia obtained 476 out of the 906 valid votes cast, representing 51 per cent of the votes.
