Africa-Press – Ghana. The Papa Jay Motivational Tournament (PJMoT) has undertaken full medical examinations for all young footballers to ensure their safety and preparedness for competition.

The screening exercise, conducted on February 6, 2026, at the Ho Sports Stadium, forms part of preparatory activities for the maiden edition of the PJMoT Invitational Tournament.

Qualified medical officers from Emmanuel Medical Hospital, Ho, led the assessment, examining players in both the Under-13 and Under-15 divisions.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, Mr Raymond Tsiagbe, the PRO of PJMoT said the checks covered physical fitness, vital signs, and basic health conditions to guarantee that only medically cleared players participate.

“We want to create a safe, competitive environment for every child,” a medical officer noted, emphasising the importance of early health evaluation in youth sports.

Tournament organisers also expressed satisfaction with the process, describing it as essential to ensuring discipline, professionalism and fair play.

The inaugural tournament is scheduled for 7th and 8th March 2026 at the Ho Sports Stadium, with expectations of vibrant youth football displays.

Participating teams include Home Stars Academy, Dynamo FC Ghana, Asogli SC and Ho Coat FC, all preparing to compete for honours.

Football enthusiasts and local patrons say they anticipate an exciting showcase of emerging talent, backed by the Volta Football Association and the Ghana Football Association.
