Africa-Press – Ghana. President John Dramani Mahama has inaugurated phase five of the tile production line at the KEDA Ghana Ceramics Limited, a lead producer of sanitary wares and ceramic tiles in Ghana in the Shama District of the Western Region.

He also commissioned a modern sanitary ware factory and cut the sod for the construction of a new Float Glass Manufacturing facility.

President Mahama said through the reset agenda, the government had restored macroeconomic stability, revived investor confidence, and repositioned Ghana as a serious destination for productive investment.

He said commissioning of the fifth phase of the tile production line increased the capacity by another 40,000 square meters per day, to bring the total output of the tile production facility to 200,000 square meters every day.

He was happy to announce that the factory in Shama exports to over 20 countries, including, the United States, Italy, France, Mexico, Peru, and Brazil.

“This demonstrates something important that products made in Ghana can compete globally when quality meets scale,” he stated.

President Mahama was thankful to the traditional rulers of the area for releasing the land on which the beautiful developments were taking place.

According to him, they had granted a leasehold of almost 800 acres for the ceramic tile factory, for the sanitary ware factory phase one, including the expansion that was about to be commissioned.

He hinted that the place was going to become the industrial hub of the Western Region.

Mr Lorry Li-Wei, Managing Director of the company said the projects reflected its unwavering confidence in Ghana’s industrial future and its determination to deepen its contribution to national development.

According to him, the projects stood as a testament to the strong partnership between KEDA Ghana and the Government of Ghana.

The company’s operational experience demonstrates clearly that the 24-hour Economy was not only achievable, but also a powerful driver of accelerated economic growth.

He thanked the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry for her proactive engagement and unwavering support.

He recalled her visit to the company’s headquarters in Foshan, China in June 2025, where she delivered a clear and compelling message that Ghana was ready for investment.

Mr Li-Wei reaffirmed KEDA Ghana’s unwavering commitment to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s socio-economic transformation and looked forward to growing together with Ghana and to even contribute more to the nation’s manufacturing future.
