Africa-Press – Ghana. President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe, as part of his three-day State Visit to Ghana, has visited the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant (ACARP), a subsidiary of the Jospong Group of Companies.
A statement issued by Ghana’s Presidency said the visit was to afford him to observe at firsthand Ghana’s advancements in sustainable waste management.
It said the visit reflects the shared commitment of Ghana and Zimbabwe to strengthening cooperation in environmental sustainability and promoting innovative, homegrown solutions to sanitation and waste management challenges across the continent.
Following the tour, President Dr Mnangagwa commended the initiative, describing it as a commendable model for efficient waste management and environmental protection in Africa.
President Mnangagwa was conducted around the facility by the Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies, Joseph Siaw Agyepong.
The Zoomlion Executive Chairman provided detailed insights into the plant’s operations, including recycling and composting processes.
The visit further highlighted opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the replication of best practices between the two countries.
