Africa-Press – Ghana. Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, on Monday called on President John Dramani Mahama at the Presidency in Accra.

The Otumfuo and his retinue were at the Presidency to congratulate President Mahama on his election victory in the December 7, 2024, general election and to return the President’s visit to Manhyia within the first two weeks of his assumption of office.

He said the President’s visit to Manhyia within the first two weeks of his assumption of office was an honour to him and Asanteman and his observation of the President’s performance over the past five months, showed that he had been delivering on his promises to the people Ghana.

The Otumfuo said, he had known the President for several decades as a man of humility, saying “don’t change, continue to be humble, and encouraged him to continue to do the good works, he was doing with the humility that he was known for.

He advised the President to be bold and perform what he could, and not to disappoint Ghanaians, who voted him into office and urged appointees of President Mahama to emulate his humility, work hard and not to disappoint him.

The traditional ruler encouraged them to avoid complacency and focus on their responsibilities.

On his part, President Mahama assured Otumfuo Osei Tutu and Asanteman that he would provide them with more infrastructural development projects.

The President said his vision was to complete the dualization of the Accra-Kumasi Road and to expand all key road infrastructure projects in the Ashanti, as well as complete the Afari Military Hospital and the Phase 2 of the Kejetia Market.

Present at the event was Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.
