Africa-Press – Ghana. Barcelona are undecided about making a move for Wolves’ Ruben Neves this summer, as they search for a Sergio Busquets replacement.
33-year-old Busquets has performed well this season in a midfield that has come on leaps and bounds in recent times, but there is a growing acceptance that he cannot go on forever.
As reported earlier this month, one of the players being considered to replace the Spain international is Neves. The 25-year-old has been linked with a move away from Wolves for some time with Arsenal one of the clubs who tracked him last summer.
Barcelona have now joined the race, though Mundo Deportivo note that there is some disagreement within the club over whether Neves warrants a significant financial outlay. His Molineux contract does not expire until 2024 and Wolves are likely to demand €50m for one of their most important players.
However, as 90min reported in January, Neves could be ready to test himself at a higher level with Manchester United also among his admirers.
Neves has been in particularly good form of late, which is only going to increase his value. He scored in Wolves’ recent 4-0 win over Watford and also assisted Conor Coady’s winner as Wanderers secured a fine 1-0 away victory at Everton.
