Boxing Promoter Bruce-Cudjoe Declares Intention to Contest GBA Presidential Position

Africa-Press – Ghana. Cudjoe, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cabic Promotions and Management, has announced his bid to contest for the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) Presidential position.

The GBA is set to hold its elective congress in June 2025 where new leaders would be elected to spearhead the affairs of the authority for the next four years.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra, Mr Bruce-Cudjoe said he had an agenda for change and was ready to reset the GBA to ensure development of the sport.

He said when given the opportunity to serve he would be working closely with stakeholders and appoint retired boxers for mentorship programmes.

Mr Bruce-Cudjoe further stated his intention to push for a better welfare scheme for all stakeholders in the boxing fraternity, especially boxers.

“I have had calls within the boxing fraternity and beyond to stand for the GBA President, I wish to state that I am ready to lead us all into a new era of growth, professionalism and global excellence and to partner with all stakeholders in transforming GBA for the benefit of posterity,” he said.

Mr Bruce-Cudjoe added that if chosen by delegates, he would work with the National Sports Authority (NSA) to establish standard games across all 16 regions in his quest to expand the sports.

“It is my ultimate dream that national champions will emerge from nationwide competitions, strengthening the sport across Ghana.

“I will make GBA a true advocate and an effective regulatory body for stakeholders and also produce a formidable world champion within the first four-year mandate,” said Mr Bruce-Cudjoe.

He thanked and extended profound gratitude to all those who have contributed positively to the GBA and looks forward to leading the sport into a new prosperous era.
