Africa-Press – Ghana. Scottish giants Celtic could miss out on signing Bristol City striker Antoine Semenyo, according to a journalist and transfer guru.
Celtic have shown great interest in Semenyo but Pete O’Rourke believes that the Hoops could be priced out of a deal.
The Ghanaian is valued at £20 million by Bristol and O’Rourke doesn’t see Celtic beating the likes of West Ham, Everton and Austria’s Red Bull Salzburg, who are also interested, to Semenyo’s signature.
He told Give Me Sport: “I’m sure Celtic will continue to keep tabs on him. But, if it comes down to pricing, I think Celtic will be priced out of it.”
On transfer deadline day, Nottingham Forest made a last-minute bid but it was turned down because it was way shorter.
The London-born attacker who has been targeted by Ghana ahead of the World Cup playoff against Nigeria is unlikely to stay at Bristol beyond the end of this season owing to his great form in the Championship.
The youngster has scored six times for Bristol City this season and has registered eight assists.
Semenyo has a contract until 2023 with Bristol holding an option to extend that by another year.
