Christians Asked to Contribute to the Growth of Church

Africa-Press – Ghana. -The Reverend Gabriel Baniba, Tsawenu District Pastor of the Global Evangelical Church (GEC), has advised Christians to willingly contribute their resources for the growth of the church and development of the kingdom of God.

“God’s Word and his kingdom cannot reach the ends of the world without Christians sacrificing their resources, time and energy,” he stated.

Rev Baniba gave the advice during a sendoff service organized for Rev Anthony Segbe, the outgoing Adaklu Waya District Pastor of the GEC at Adaklu Waya over the weekend.

He preached on a sermon on the theme: “Sacrifice for the Kingdom of God” quoting 2nd Corinthians 9: 6 – 15.

Rev Baniba who is also the Ho Presbytery Coordinator of the Men’s Ministry of the Church noted that to enable “those in darkness to see the light of God we need to emulate the early Christians by being generous and compassionate.”

He assured Christians that as they give generously to support the Church even in their difficulties, they might receive more blessings from God.

Rev Segbe was commissioned as a Minister of the Church in 2008 and sent to Likpe as the District Pastor and was ordained in 2010.

He was later transferred to Akim Oda in 2016 and was moved to Adaklu Waya in 2019.

He was also the Project Pastor for Adaklu Waya Global Child Development Centre.

Rev Segbe was full of praise for the church in the district for their unflinching support to him during his stay with them.

He noted that the membership of the Church had increased during his six-year stay with them and called on members to work extra hard to win more souls for God.

The Church and the Child Development Centre presented citations to Rev Segbe.

Cash donations and other gifts were presented to him by the Church, groups and individuals of the Church.
