EC Sets December 30 for Rerun of Kpandai Parliamentary Election

Africa-Press – Ghana. The Electoral Commission (EC) has set December 30, 2025, to rerun the parliamentary election in the Kpandai Constituency.

This follows a ruling by a High Court in Tamale, on Monday, November 24, 2025, ordering the re run within 30 days.

A statement signed and issued by Mr. Fred Tetteh, Deputy Director of Research, Monitoring and Evaluation at the EC, said the decision to proceed with the rerun was also prompted by a formal notification received from the Clerk to Parliament on December 9, 2025, declaring the Kpandai seat vacant.

The notice confirmed the creation of a vacancy in the Membership of Parliament after the court’s directive.

The EC stated that the rerun would involve only the three candidates who contested the 2024 parliamentary election in the constituency, in accordance with the court’s instruction.
