Envoys of Angola, Malta, France Bid Farewell to President Mahama

Africa-Press – Ghana. The outgoing envoys of Angola, Malta and France on Thursday bid farewell to President John Dramani Mahama at the Presidency in Accra.

A statement issued by the Presidency said the three envoys, who have completed their duty tour in Ghana include Mr João Domingos Baptista Quiosa of Angola, Mr Jean Claude Galea Mallia of Malta and Mr Jules Armand Aniambossou of France.

Mr João Domingos Baptista Quiosa, the outgoing Ambassador to Angola, served a four-year duty tour to Ghana.

He traced relations between the two countries to 1959 when then President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah, through the Liberation movement network helped their fight for independence and thanked Ghana for supporting Angola, which was now into large scale cocoa farming while many Angolan students were now studying in Ghana.

President Mahama called for increased collaboration and sharing of experiences between Ghana and Angola, for their mutual benefit, especially in the oil and gas industry and renewable energy.

Mr Jean Claude Galea Mallia, the outgoing Ambassador to Malta, has been in Ghana for over seven years.

He pledged Malta’s interest in establishing businesses in Ghana to promote export trade

President Mahama said Ghana was undergoing reforms to make the country a business hub for the sub region and it was committed to leveraging the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTA) as host of its headquarters

“Ghana alone cannot leverage on the investment opportunities and is ready to partner others to tap the huge potentials abound,” President Mahama noted

Mr Jules Armand Aniambossou, the outgoing Ambassador of France, has since November, 2022, served as his country’s envoy to Ghana.

He said France remained committed; stating that “France is open to business and expanding its relationships across the continent.”

He said over 60 French companies were looking for more business friendly policies to attract more.

He disclosed that over €2 million spent in building capacity of entrepreneurs in the entertainment industry and € 90 million in Feed Ghana initiatives in Northern Ghana

President Mahama expressed Ghana’s interest in more collaboration with France, especially by tapping into its expertise in the aviation industry to equip the Ghana Air force in terms of training and safety issues, especially after the tragic helicopter crash that claimed eight lives.
