Former MP Encourages Muslim Women to Celebrate at Home

Africa-Press – Ghana. Dr Freda Prempeh, the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Tano North in the Ahafo Region at the weekend urged Muslim women to ensure peaceful, cohesive and endless joy in their families and homes, as they celebrate the Eid-ul Adha festive season.

She wished Muslims peaceful and prosperous celebration, asking the women, to remain compassionate to their families.

The MP also entreated them to care for, and share with the vulnerable girls, in the Muslim communities and on the streets and orphanages, as required by the Islamic faith.

Dr Prempeh, also the Founder of the Ultimate Women Foundation (UWF), a Non-governmental organisation gave the advice in an interview at Duayaw-Nkwanta.

She explained the UWF sought to encourage and motivate indigenous and vulnerable women and girls to know their worth and to empower and well position them to contribute to the development of their communities and the larger society.

“Endeavour to celebrate in peace, love and joy”, the former outspoken legislator advised, and asked them to guard against tendencies and attitudes that had the potential to disturb peaceful homes.

Dr Freda said with peace and happiness in the home, emerging challenges and concerns of Muslim women and girls could be tackled, and thereby created a more cohesive Muslim communities, nationwide.
