Africa-Press – Ghana. Mr Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff, on Wednesday night led a Government Delegation to receive the remains of the eight individuals who died in the military helicopter crash in Adansi in the Ashanti Region.
The Ghana Air Force helicopter transporting the remains arrived at exactly 2130 hours at the Air Force Base in Accra.
The coffins were received in the presence of senior government officials, military officials, and party executives.
These include the Service Commanders of the Ghana Armed Forces, Mr Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Felix Kwakye Ofosu; the Presidential Spokesperson and Minister of State in-charge of Government Communications; and Mr Haruna Iddrisu, the Minister for Education.
Others are Mrs Joyce Bawa Mogtari; Presidential Staffer and Special Aide to the President, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, Deputy Chief of Staff at the Presidency in-charge of Finance and Administration, Mr Stanislav Xoese Dogbe, Deputy Chief of Staff at the Presidency in-charge of Operations.
A short military ceremony was held following the arrival.
Prayers were offered for the departed, and the necessary military protocols were observed.
The remains were subsequently conveyed in hearses from the Air Force Base to the morgue.
