Africa-Press – Ghana. Ud Didi Dramani Head Coach of Hearts of Oak has commended the organisers of the Democracy Cup, for the initiative, saying the timing is good for his club.
According to Coach Dramani, the tournament provides a timely platform for clubs to sharpen their preparations ahead of the upcoming season while also offering players a competitive edge outside the league.
He such well-structured competitions were good for teams to test their readiness and also contribute to the broader development of Ghanaian football.
“The Democracy Cup has come at a very good time for us. It allows the team to stay in shape, test our strategies, and give players valuable game-time experience.
“This is the sort of initiative: that helps raise the standard of the local game,” Dramani remarked.
He acknowledged the efforts of the organisers in creating a football event that unites fans, foster national pride, and strengthens the bond between football and civic celebration.
Supporters of the Phobians have also welcomed the competition, describing it as an exciting addition to the football calendar.
Accra Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics would battle for honours in the second edition of the competition on Friday, September 5, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
