Africa-Press – Ghana. The Ghana Employers’ Association (GEA) has extended its condolences to President John Dramani Mahama, the Government and People of Ghana and the bereaved families of the eight victims of the August 6, 2025, helicopter tragedy.
Nana Dr Emmanuel Adu-Sarkodee Afriyie, the GEA President of the GEA in a statement said the Association had learnt with profound shock and deep sorrow of the tragic helicopter accident that occurred on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, claiming the lives of the eight distinguished Ghanaians.
They include: Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence; and Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, and Member of Parliament for Tamale Central.
Others are Alhaji Limuna Muniru Mohammed, Deputy National Security Coordinator; Dr Samuel Sarpong, National Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Mr Samuel Aboagye, Deputy Director-General of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and a former NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Obuasi East.
The rest are Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala; Flying Officer Mane-Twum Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah, all of the Ghana Air Force.
“On behalf of the Council and entire membership of the Association, we extend our heartfelt condolences to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of Ghana, the Government, Ghana Armed Forces and bereaved families,” Nana Dr Adu-Sarkodee Afriyie said.
“This devastating incident is indeed a painful loss not only to the families affected but also to the entire nation.
We mourn with the Government and stand in solidarity with all who have been touched by this tragedy.”
He noted that the GEA acknowledges the dedicated service and contributions of the victims to national development, and that they recognise the grief that this sudden loss has brought upon the country.
He said in these difficult times, the Association would like to call for unity, compassion and mutual support as they collectively come to terms with the tragedy.
“May the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace, and may their memories inspire us to cherish the gift of life and the bonds we share as Ghanaians.”
