Africa-Press – Ghana. Mr. Safo Nketia, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Krachi East Municipality, has taken steps to address the issue of uncollected Ghana Cards in the municipality.
He met with officials from the National Identification Authority (NIA) to discuss possible solutions.
Mr Nketia emphasised the significance of the Ghana Card for identity verification and access to services.
He acknowledged that some citizens might have forgotten or been unable to collect their cards and proposed outreach initiatives to encourage collection.
The proposed initiatives include community programs, door-to-door campaigns, and local media reminders.
The MCE pledged the municipal Assembly’s full support to facilitate the collection of Ghana Cards, ensuring citizens can access essential services.
The Municipal Director of the National Identification Authority (NIA), Mr Jacob Sey, seized the opportunity to urge the Municipal Assembly for assistance to address challenges hindering the office’s operations.
During a meeting with the MCE, the NIA director highlighted the need for support specifically, instance printing machines for Ghana cards and renovation of their offices.
He expressed hope that the Municipal Assembly’s support would enhance the office’s efficiency in serving the community.
