Africa-Press – Ghana. Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin’s “A Country Called Ghana” movie is currently one of the most popular films on Amazon Prime and other international movie streaming platforms.
Since its premiere last year, the film has been one of the most talked-about on the African continent, thanks to its excellent production design and top casts including Ramsey Nouah, Charles Awurum, and Victor Osuagwu, among others
It has also received multiple accolades, including Best Indigenous Film at the 2024 Nollywood Film Festival, Best Production Design, and Best Make-Up Film at the Imo International Film Festival, among others.
Lilwin, who starred in the film and produced it, expressed his delight at the film’s global popularity.
“It has been my ambition to see my film on major international streaming platforms, and I am overjoyed to see it doing well.
“This is just the beginning of many great productions from Weezy Empire, and I am grateful to anyone who has supported us throughout this journey,” Lilwin said.
He also talked about the planned premiere of his upcoming “Ibrahim Traore” movie on August 2, 2025, at the SG Mall in Kumasi.
Snippets of the teaser have already made social media buzz, with fans eagerly anticipating its release.
“This is one of my biggest productions yet, and it has been a difficult journey, so I encourage people to attend and enjoy the best of Kumawood on the day of the premiere,” Lilwin stated.
