Africa-Press – Ghana. President John Dramani Mahama on day two of his Resetting Ghana Tour of the Bono Region, inspected several ongoing construction projects within the Sunyani municipality.
These included the proposed site for the Bono Regional Airport located at Nsuatre near Sunyani, the Sunyani Outer Ring Road, and GETFund projects at Sunyani Senior High School.
The proposed Bono Regional Airport, which is being undertaken by the Government through the Ghana Airport Company is aimed at making Sunyani an aviation hub.
The 34km Sunyani Outer Ring Road, which is being executed by Kofi Job Constructions, is aimed at improving traffic flow and bypassing the Sunyani city centre.
The ongoing GETFund targeted building facilities at SUSEC include a two-storey 12-unit Science Classroom Block and a two-storey 12-unit science laboratory block.
The rest are two dormitory blocks (one for boys and another for girls), washing area, lavatory, classroom block, toilet block and four semi-detached staff bungalows.
The President urged the contractor to speed up works on the GETFund projects to ensure their timely completion.
President Mahama also visited the newly commissioned National Signals Bureau Bono Regional Office in Sunyani.
He also addressed a durbar of the Chiefs and People of the Bono Region at the Great Hall of the University of Energy and Renewable Natural Resources in Sunyani.
President Mahama climaxed his Bono Regional Tour with the presentation of grants to 245 beneficiaries of the Adwumawura programme in Sunyani.
