NDC Bono Women’S Wing Grateful to President Mahama

Africa-Press – Ghana. The Bono Regional Women’s Wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for nominating a female as the Berekum East Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).

They called on Hajia Fatimatu Abubakar, the president’s nominee who was subsequently approved by the Berekum Municipal Assembly as the MCE to also justify the confidence reposed in her by working hard and prioritising development.

In an interview in Sunyani Hajia Seitu Banda, the Dormaa West Constituency Women Organiser of the NDC thanked President Mahama for heeding to their request of nominating the MCE.

The 38-Member Assembly approved the President’s nominee by voting a 100 per cent ‘yes’ in an election conducted and supervised by the Electoral Commission in Berekum.

“We expect the MCE to work hard to show that women are equally capable of leading and driving national progress”, Hajia Banda stated.

Madam Mary Fosua, the Jaman South Women Organiser of the NDC also congratulated the MCE for her new position, urging her to work tirelessly to bring the development of the municipality to the next level.

Madam Salamatu Adams, the Assembly Member (AMs) for Boadan Electoral Area in the Berekum Municipality, also the Bono Regional Credit Manager of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) to work together with the AMs, irrespective of their political affiliations.

She told that with unity and togetherness the Assembly would be able to facilitate the holistic development of the local communities.

Madam Adams said she had confidence in her, hoping that the MCE would drive development initiatives that would better the lives of the people.
