Africa-Press – Ghana. The Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, which claimed eight lives, including two serving Ministers of State.
In a statement, the society extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, the Government, and the people of Ghana, describing the incident as a moment of “profound grief” for the entire nation.
The PSGH paid tribute to the victims, noting that they were “distinguished individuals who contributed significantly to shaping our country’s future.”
It also offered prayers for strength, comfort, and peace for the families as they cope with the loss.
“As we reflect on this tragedy, we are reminded of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment,” the statement said.
The society pledged its unwavering solidarity with the nation during the mourning period and encouraged all pharmacists and citizens to actively participate in the official three-day national mourning declared by President John Dramani Mahama in honour of the deceased.
“May the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace, and may their memories inspire us to work together for a better and more resilient Ghana,” the PSGH added.
The fatal crash has sparked nationwide grief, with tributes pouring in from political leaders, professional bodies, and citizens, all united in remembrance of the service and dedication of the fallen public servants.
