Africa-Press – Ghana. Chair of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament James Kluste Avedzi has expressed concern about the failure to act on its recommendations for prosecution by the Office of the Attorney-General (A-G).
The PAC has been making referrals for prosecution but it appears no action has been taken on them.
For instance, last year, the committee referred the Registrar General’s Department to the Attorney-General (A-G) for prosecution for breach of the procurement process.
But Mr Avedzi says someone in government has deliberately refused his or her job to get the persons prosecuted.

Speaking in an interview on the Hot Issues on Sunday, May 5, he stated that this is one of the challenges faced by the Committee.
“Most of the recommendations we make for people to be prosecuted for procurement breaches don’t get transmitted to the Attorney-General for action. I think somebody is intentionally not doing his work,” he said.
