Africa-Press – Ghana. Mr Ransford Antwi, an Election 2024 Independent Parliamentary Candidate in the Sunyani East constituency, has expressed his deepest appreciation to the Electoral Commission (EC) for refunding his filing fees.
He said refunding the filing fees to him would inspire many of the youth to engage in active politics and help deepen and consolidate the gains of the nation’s fledgling democracy.
“I received a call from the EC that I had qualified for a refund of my filing fee as an Independent Parliamentary Candidate for Sunyani East, following our good performance in the 2024 General Elections”, Mr Antwi told in Sunyani.
He said that: “I subsequently arranged for the cheque to be picked up on my behalf” and expressed appreciation to “everyone who made the short six-month project possible and a big one to EC”.
“In fact, I didn’t expect it and that took me by surprise”, Mr Antwi, also Chief Executive Officer of the Suncity Group of Companies and operators of the Sunyani-based Suncity Radio added.
