Africa-Press – Ghana. Serbia’s Foreign Minister, Mr. Marko Đurić, met with Ghana’s Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Alban Bagbin, during a three-day official visit aimed at bolstering bilateral relations between the two nations.
The discussions centered on enhancing cooperation through the Ghana-Serbia Parliamentary Friendship Association, a key platform for legislative collaboration and cultural exchange.
A statement seen by the Ghana News Agency on the Facebook page of Parliament has said.
It said Speaker Bagbin highlighted the role of parliamentary diplomacy in the advancement of democratic governance and sustainable development.
“The visit underscores Serbia’s growing engagement with African nations, with Ghana serving as a strategic ally in West Africa.
“This meeting forms part of broader diplomatic efforts to enhance bilateral relations between Serbia and Ghana,” it said.
According to the statement, the two nations were exploring ways to deepen their partnership through mutual understanding, legislative collaboration, and people-to-people diplomacy.
This development comes as Ghana and Serbia have also been strengthening cultural ties, evident in the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on heritage and tourism cooperation.
“The meeting between the Serbian Foreign Minister and Speaker Bagbin demonstrates a shared commitment to advancing democratic governance and fostering development partnerships between the two nations,” it noted.
