Africa-Press – Ghana. SIC Insurance PLC has announced its partnership with WanderLust Expedition as the official insurance provider for their 2026 overland journey from Ghana to the United States of America.

As part of this collaboration, SIC Insurance PLC will provide comprehensive travel insurance coverage for the expedition team, as well as insurance protection for the expedition vehicles and other associated risks throughout the journey.

Speaking at the outdooring ceremony in Accra, Mr James Agyeinim-Boateng, the Managing Director of SIC Insurance PLC said the landmark expedition represented a bold demonstration of resilience, adventure, and Ghanaian enterprise on the global stage.

He said, “Through this partnership, SIC Insurance PLC reaffirms its commitment to supporting innovative and transformative initiatives by delivering reliable and responsive insurance solutions.”

“We are excited to be part of this historic journey and remain dedicated to ensuring that every mile of the expedition is backed by trusted protection,” he added.

Mr Agyenim-Boateng noted that travel could be unpredictable, especially a long-haul expedition, explaining that “our travel insurance therefore covers every team member against medical emergencies and evacuation, personal accidents, trip interruptions, lost or damaged baggage, and a wide range of travel risks.”

He explained that the company’s vehicle insurance ensured the expedition vehicles were fully protected against damage, third-party liability, and mechanical losses throughout the journey.

“When the WanderLust Expedition Team sets off, they go not alone but with the full backing, protection, and institutional confidence of SIC Insurance PLC. Every Single Step,” he stated.

The Managing Director wished the WanderLust Expedition Team a safe, successful, and historic journey to the United States of America and back.
